Admissions Process

The best way to understand and experience our school is to attend our admissions events and open days or make an appointment to visit NLCS HCMC during weekdays. Weekly private visits are bookable on a first come first served basis. Events are published on the NLCS website and we encourage parents to make a booking for the events as some have limited space.

NLCS HCMC reserves the right to close applications for particular year groups earlier than planned, and without notice, if demand is high. We therefore always recommend an early application, at least 1 week prior to the Assessment Day.

Applications can be emailed or delivered to us directly and will be processed on a first come first served basis when the following requirements are met:

1. All students must apply via NLCS HCMC online application form.
2. All applicants must pay a non-refundable Application Fee (currently 3,000,000VND).
3. All applicants must provide the following required documents to the Admissions Office:

– Two passport photos (4×6) of the student.
– A copy of birth certificate or passport of the student
– A copy of kindergarten reports (Grade 1 applicants, if applicable)
– A copy of school academic transcript of two previous years (Grade 2 and above)
– School transfer documents (if students transfer school in the middle of the academic year)
– A copy of immunization record
– A notarised copy of family residence book or parent’s registration documents
– A notarised copy of parents’ identity cards or passports
– A copy of previous learning support or other special needs documents (if applicable)
– Notarised translations when not in Vietnamese or English
– A complete Medical Form

All applicants are required to complete an admissions assessment to establish academic potential and eligibility. Once the Application Fee has been paid and all required documents have been reviewed by the Admissions Office, an appointment will be made for an admissions assessment.

Grade 1: Class/ Individual observation (and an interview when needed).

Grade 2 and above: Admissions tests (and an interview when needed).

If there are circumstances that require online assessment, further information will be provided to parents. The medium for online assessment can take place will be set by NLCS HCMC on Microsoft Teams.

Final decisions regarding entry are made at the discretion of the General Principal who will liaise with the Admissions Team to make decision for each candidate. Within three days of an assessment taking place, the admissions decision and enrolment process will be shared with parents via email and phone call from Admissions Office, on behalf of the General Principal.

• Offer
  If an applicant is qualified and there are available places, the applicant will receive an offer. The offer includes an Acceptance Letter, a checklist of required documents, and payment deadlines. 
  
  

• Waiting list
  If an applicant is qualified and there is no space available, the applicant will be added to a waiting list.
  
  

• No offer
  Applicants can be rejected when their academic and/or behavioural records or their assessment results do not meet grade level requirements, or when NLCS HCMC lacks a programme to meet their educational needs.
  Applicants cannot reapply for the same year of entry. Students can reapply for a future academic year and will have to make a new application, pay the non-refundable application fee and go through the assessment process for that year of entry.

Applicants must accept the offer within the deadline stated on the offer by signing the Acceptance Letter, returning the required paperwork, making the required payment, including non-refundable Registration fee. Once the deadline has passed, the offer will no longer be valid, and the place will be offered to other applicants.
